Men's Soccer Wins Second in a Row

Men's Soccer Wins Second in a Row

The King's College Men's Soccer Team visited the Webb Institute out on Long Island last night and posted their second consecutive victory and third consecutive shutout.

Freshman Richard Christensen started in goal and kept a clean sheet until halftime. Fellow freshman Thomas Gatt came on for second half goalkeeping duties, but the game was stopped at the 52:00 minute mark due to bad weather. At that point the Lions were up 4-0. Freshman Josiah Simons scored the first goal which proved to be the game winner on an assist from freshman Tom Champlin. Freshman Jackson Kane made it 2-0 on a pass from freshman Craig Wishart. The upperclassmen got in on the action as senior Trey Carlton fed senior Matt Contreras for a 3-0 lead. Simons struck again for the fourth and final goal on an assist from Andrew Knudsen to seal the 4-0 win.

The Lions have now gone three games and 247:00 minutes without conceding a goal as their record improves to 2-1-1. The team returns to action Saturday 9/17 on the road at SUNY-Delhi.
