Bonn and Cook Lead Cross Country at MSM Invitational

Bonn and Cook Lead Cross Country at MSM Invitational

The team headed north on Saturday to compete in the Mount Saint Mary Invitational at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome in Milton, NY. This has been an important meet for TKC for the past few years because this course is where the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships are held later in the month. So in addition to running against the great competition Mount Saint Mary's continues to draw, the TKC team has the opportunity to run the course ahead of the conference championship meet. Despite the wet, rainy conditions the team persevered and logged some fine results.

Senior Alina Bonn led the way again for the Lady Lions with a 29th overall finish in the field of 166 runners as she crossed the line in 28:14. Fellow senior Hannah Lezak was 79th with a 30:53. Freshman Kaitlin O'Dell was 89th with a 31:40. Sophomore Caitlyn Berry ran a 33:32 to finish 108th. Freshman Marisa Wineriter was 119th with a 34:38 and sophomore Rachel Sheldon was 123rd with a 35:12. The team finished 17th overall in the team standings of the 6K race.

On the men's side freshman Ben Cook finished 70th in a field of 147 runners with a time of 33:12 in the 8K race. Freshman Micah Paulec was 93rd with a 35:24 and senior Charles O'Brien was right behind him in 35:26 to finish 94th.
