Lady Lions Dominate Vaughn

After a tough game against Pratt Institute, the Lady Lions were looking to pick up their second win of the season against the Vaughn College Warriors. With both teams beating Webb Institute by similar margins, this would be a pretty even matchup. With the developing chemistry within the Lady Lions team, a convincing 78-43 win was secured to create a winning streak.

The Lady Lions had a stats-packed game with four players scoring in the double-digits and three of the four securing double-doubles. Junior Bailey Kaufman put up the most points for the Lady Lions and notched a season-high 22 points. Along with Kaufman's high scoring game, she also added 6 assists, 3 steals, 3 offensive rebounds, and 2 blocks.

Following close behind, sophomore Laura Sneed earned her first double-double of the season, putting up a career high of 16 points and taking down an impressive 18 rebounds. Sneed adding to her great offensive and defensive showing also made 2 steals and 2 blocks.

Junior Sarah Sudfeld also added 16 points for the Lions, which is a career high and snatched 13 rebounds to earn her first double-double as well. In Sudfeld's 2 game appearances, she is averaging 12.5 points-per-game and 12.5 rebounds-per-game.

Sophomore Callie Donaghue, who has put up double-digit points in three of the last five games, was able to match her scoring with rebounding in the double figures. Donaghue netted 13 points and took down a career high of 18 rebounds, earning her first double-double of the season. Donaghue also contributed 1 assist and 1 block to help the Lady Lions.

Sophomore Serena Tuomi added 7 points and took down 6 rebounds, while junior Sha Sanders put up 5 points and snatched 7 defensive rebounds. The Lady Lions played well as a cohesive unit maintaining a 55.6% free-throw percentage and limiting their turnovers to under 15.
