Playing back to back games, the Lady Lions would need to come out with some energy, in order to defeat the Maccabees of Yeshiva University. Despite playing a great first quarter, the Lady Lions were unable to come up with the win, dropping 72-44.
Four players were able to score double digits, which shows the strength of the Lady Lions' offense. Sophomore Serena Tuomi secured her first double-double of her career and of the Lady Lions season. Tuomi snatched an outstanding 19 rebounds, 11 offensive and 8 defensive, which was the most of either team. Tuomi put up 11 points as well to earn herself the double-double and posted 1 assist and made 1 steal.
Freshman Callie Donaghue, proving herself as a multi-talented athlete, was a great all-around player in this game. Coming off a small injury the previous game, Donaghue still had an impressive offensive and defensive showing, with 11 points, 9 defensive rebounds, and 4 steals. Donaghue was 1 rebound shy of securing his first career double-double.
Junior Bailey Kaufman was the third of four players to score double digit figures. Kaufman put up 10 points and took down 7 rebounds, 6 defensive and 1 offensive. Kaufman also made 4 steals and posted 1 assist.
Junior Donyanna Sanders continues to lead the team putting up the most points for King's with a total of 12. Sanders took down 3 rebounds, assisted 1 basket, and made 1 steal as well.
