LeBlanc Honored at Senior Night Against Five Towns

On February 2nd the Lady Lions took on the Sound from Five Towns College for the second time this season. Coming close to securing the win, the Lady Lions were 11 points shy of clinching the victory in a low-scoring matchup, resulting in a 42-32 win for the Sound.

The Lady Lions were only down by one point in the first quarter and were not far behind at the end of the first half, 19-14. The Lady Lions had a great third quarter, outscoring the Sound 14-9 and were tied at 28-28, heading into the final quarter. It wasn't until the fourth quarter that the Sound were able to outscore the Lady Lions and take the win.

Sophomore Bailey Kaufman had a phenomenal game, scoring the most points for King's with a total of 14. Kaufman snatched 7 rebounds, 4 defensive and 3 offensive.

Following behind her, sophomore Catie Shoemaker, freshman Emmaline Waller, and senior Megan LeBlanc each scored 6 points. Shoemaker and Waller also took down 6 rebounds, 3 defensive and 3 offensive. LeBlanc grabbed 4 rebounds to help the Lady Lions.

Sophomore Sha Sanders scored 4 points and took down 4 rebounds. Freshman Hannah Gillihan also took down 4 rebounds, 2 defensive and 2 offensive.

Megan LeBlanc has been a leader on this team, being the only women's basketball senior this year. Her positivity throughout this season has encouraged her teammates on and off the court. Through the trials of this season, she has kept this team afloat in many tough situations. Tonight we honored her dedication to the game and to the team, during her time here at King's.

NEXT UP: The Lady Lions will be facing the Falcons of Davis College on February 9th in an away game (2:00pm).
