Men's Soccer Downed in Double OT

Men's Soccer Downed in Double OT

In the second game of a women's and men's soccer doubleheader with the University of Valley Forge, the men's game was strikingly similar to the women's. The score at halftime was 0-0 in each game only to be tied 2-2 in the first 20 minutes of the second half. Like the TKC women, the men held a distinct advantage in shots (28-16) and corner kicks (6-0) only to see the score tied and headed into a second overtime period. But while the Lady Lions prevailed 3-2 in the second OT, the men fell short and lost 3-2.

Freshman Andres Hernandez opened the scoring for TKC when he fired home a rebound off the shot of senior William Carlton as King's took a 1-0 lead just two minutes into the second half. Valley Forge would quickly tie it up and go ahead 2-1 at the 51 and 54 minute marks of the second half. But TKC freshman Craig Wishart would tie the game 2-2 with his first goal of the season when he capitalized on his penalty kick opportunity.

TKC had two shots in the first overtime but could not muster any in the second OT period, but Valley Forge's Alioune Diasse scored his first goal of the season to seal the victory for the Patriots.

TKC saw their record go to 3-5-1 overall while Valley Forge improves to 6-8.
