Men's Soccer Falls to Culinary

Men's Soccer Falls to Culinary

The King's College Men's Soccer Team took on Culinary Institute of America Sunday on a beautiful Fall afternoon. The game was up for grabs for either team although TKC eventually lost 2-1. Brent Goodbrake of CIA hit the post at the 33:00 minute mark of the first half and put in his own rebound for a 1-0 CIA lead which the Steels took into halftime. Michael Greuter added a goal for CIA at the 56:00 mark for a 2-0 CIA advantage. But TKC did not give back and battled back to 2-1 when freshman Chaz Hook scored just three minutes later to cut the lead in half at 2-1.

That would be all the scoring for this match as both teams went back and forth testing one another's keepers. Culinary held a 17-15 advantage in shots for the game, but King's had a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. TKC goalkeeper Richard Christensen stopped 6 of the 8 shots on goal he faced while his CIA counterpart, Nathan Gutcher, stopped 7 of the shots on his frame.
