The King's College Men's Basketball team traveled to the state capital on Saturday for an afternoon matinee with Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. The team earned a solid 61-39 win to improve their overall record to 3-4.
Senior Tyler Bowens led the way with 20 points highlighted by a 5-8 day from the three-point line, he also had 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Junior Mali Binen continued his strong debut season with King's with a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds as well as 2 assists, a steal, and 5 blocked shots. Senior Jordan Bishop added 14 points and 9 rebounds along with an assist and 2 steals. Junior Jimmy Nguyen contributed 5 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals.
The King's bench showed their depth with freshman James Mack helping the cause with 6 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Cade Nicholson and junior Andrew Pelaschier each grabbed a rebound. Senior Trevor Holland had 2 points and 2 rebounds and freshman Morten Hansen notched 3 rebounds.
The Lions are back on the road again Saturday as they journey farther up the New York State Thruway for an HVIAC match-up with Word of Life.
