Lions Salute Seniors with Victory Versus Vaughn

The King's College recognized two seniors in pre-game ceremonies prior to the contest with Vaughn College.

Trevor Holland is a Politics, Philosophy, and Economics major who has acted as the Student Athletic Advisory Committee President, the USCAA Student Athletic Advisory Committee Vice President, and House of Lewis Scholar. After he graduates in December he plans to stay in New York City for the foreseeable future and attend graduate school in the next few years. Until then he has accepted a position at Monarch Recruiters. Thank you Trevor for your dedication and hard work!

Ben Oldham is a Business major who has acted as the Student Athletic Advisory Committee Vice President, Soccer Team captain and was recognized as a Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Conference All-Conference soccer player. He is undecided on a job but plans on staying in New York City for the foreseeable future. Thank you Ben for your leadership these past four years!

The game began with an enthusiastic group of fans in attendance. Santa Claus was in town a little bit early and the King's Lion was showing off its dance moves! The two teams did not disappoint and the first half was a bit of a back and forth battle until King's began to pull away. The Lions headed into the locker room at halftime with a 41-32 lead.

But in the second half, King's seemed to settle into more of a rhythm on offense and gradually extended their lead outscoring the Cannoneers 40-17 in the half for an 81-49 win.

Oldham notched a double-double with 12 points and 18 rebounds while fellow senior Holland scored 12 points along with 4 steals and 2 rebounds. Junior Mali Binen had a big night for King's with 26 points, 11 rebounds, 5 steals, and 3 assists. Senior Jordan Bishop had 6 points and 2 rebounds. Nick Rommel notched 6 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. Freshman Brice White had 12 points and 2 rebounds coming off the bench, and freshman Morten Hansen was strong on the boards with 10 rebounds and 3 points. Andrew Pelaschier and Robert Wheeler each had 2 points and a rebound for the Lions.

King's will travel across the Hudson to New Jersey on Tuesday night to take on Farleigh Dickinson University-Madison.
