Second Half Surge Not Enough for Men's Basketball

Second Half Surge Not Enough for Men's Basketball

The College of Saint Elizabeth Eagles were playing their first ever men's basketball game on their home court Saturday night as the school recently became co-ed after years of being an all girls school. The CSE players and fans were charged up from the beginning for their historic night as the Eagles raced to a 44-26 halftime lead. But TKC regrouped during the break and outscored the Eagles 39-36 in the second half, a fine performance, but not enough to completely erase the first half deficit as CSE held on for the 80-65 victory.

TKC freshman Jonathan Stevens scored 12 of his 18 points in the second half, and fellow freshman Joseph Burkart had 8 of his 10 points in the second frame.

The Lions are still struggling to put together a solid effort for the full forty minutes in each game. Although still early in the season, they must find that consistency for four quarters and be willing to work at both ends of the floor.

NEXT UP: TKC will travel up to the College of New Rochelle on Friday December 2 for an 8pm tip off.
