Stevens Scores 25 But King's Falls to Panthers

The King's College freshman Jonathan Stevens scored 25 points, but it was not enough as Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences prevailed 80-74 on Sunday afternoon in a Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) match up.

Despite the offense firepower provided by Stevens, sophomore Trivette Knowles (15 points) and senior James Brooks (12 points), TKC trailed 42-34 at halftime. The Lions came out strong in the second half with senior Caleb Trouwburst grabbing 7 rebounds and freshman Joseph Burkart chipping in with 9 points. Freshman duo Matt Soltis (6 points) and Nathan Rizzuti (4 points) provided some valuable minutes off the bench, but the Panthers still outscored the Lions 40-38 in the second half.

The loss dropped TKC to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in HVIAC conference play. Albany Pharmacy improved to 1-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
