Cross Country Soars at Sunken Meadows Park

On Saturday the team traveled out to Long Island for the St. Joseph's Invitational at Sunken Meadows Park. This was the first time the TKC Cross Country team would tackle this challenging course.

That did not faze Alina Bonn as the senior ran a 22:57 knocking almost three minutes off her personal and season best 5k time of 25:50. She finished 46th overall in the field of 155 runners which included NCAA D3, D2 and USCAA schools. Freshman Kaitlin O'Dell posted a season best 25:17 for an 86th place finish. Sophomore Rachel Sheldon knocked almost three minutes off her season best time as she came across the line in 27:24 for 116th place and freshman Marissa Wineriter was right behing her in 120th at 27:39.

In the men's 8K race freshman Micah Paulec was 113th in the 168 runner field with a season best 35:10 . Senior Charles O'Brien was 119th as he finished in 35:35.

UP NEXT: The team will train for the next two weeks before heading back to the Hudson Valley Sports Dome in Milton, NY on Sunday October 30 for the HVIAC Conference Championships.
