Richard Christensen is a King's alum from Santa Barbara, California and takes on the head coaching duties in 2020-21. While growing up, he played with and helped coach at Todd Roger's youth volleyball camps. He routinely competed at the highest level in high school: Karch Kiraly Tournament of Champions (which is a tournament for the best 16 teams in California) and the Dos Pueblos Invitational, while also playing pickup games at the beach with the locals.
While a student at The King's College, he was the assistant coach for the King's women's volleyball team and Léman Preparatory School's volleyball programs. Now that he has graduated, he has returned as a part of King's IT department and to continue the team's success from the previous season.
