Coming off a two game sweep of Culinary and Cooper Union on Sunday afternoon by a combined score of 6-0, The King's College Women's Volleyball team was hoping that momentum would carry through to last night's match up with the Pratt Institute.
The Lady Lions were also hoping to honor their seniors, Savannah White and Isabelle Sandmeyer, with a third straight victory. But Pratt came out strong en route to a 3-0 win of their own (25-13, 25-21, 25-12). Sandmeyer closed out her regular season career with 8 kills, 2 aces and 9 digs for 10 points. White notched 3 digs. Their underclassmen teammates battled but could not overcome the Cannoneers. Freshman Samantha Klozik had 11 kills and 8 digs. Freshman Leah Thomas had a kill and sophomore Hope Feller added a kill and 13 assists. Freshman Renae Maganza had a dig and 6 assists and freshman Sasha Conner added a dig. Freshman Kyra Kleinsmith contributed a kill and 4 digs.
White and Sandmeyer have been been through thick and thin with their team and were rightfully honored by their coach, Alexandra Salavitch. Coach Salavitch said after the game, "both third year players, Isabelle and Savannah have added such value to the volleyball program in their time playing. In her second year as captain, Savannah has demonstrated what it looks like to balance schoolwork, extracurriculars, house involvement, jobs, and volleyball - all so well. Isabelle has pushed her teammates to work harder and become better with her competitive, fiery spirit and love for the game. Both of these women were such a joy to coach and know. They will be dearly missed and I wish them all the success in their next chapter."
The Lady Lions finish the regular season portion of their season with an overall record of 9-9.

The team will travel to The College of New Rochelle on Saturday November 3 where they will take on Davis College in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference semifinals at 3:45PM.
The winner of this match will advance to the finals later that evening to play the winner of the match between the College of New Rochelle and the Culinary Institute of America.
