Volleyball Takes Two in Tri-Match

The King's College women's volleyball vs Culinary institute of America.

The King's College Women's Volleyball team rebounded from a loss to Pratt Saturday and came up with two victories today. They defeated the Culinary Institute of America 3-0 (25-6, 25-5, 25-17) in the first match of the day. Later on they prevailed 3-0 against Cooper Union 3-0 (25-6, 25-9, 25-10).

Against Culinary 26 of King's 75 points came from service aces as Isabelle Sandmeyer had 6 while three Lady Lions had 5 (Samantha Klozik, Ruby Anastacio, Renae Maganza). Hope Feller contributed 3 aces and Kyra Kleinsmith had 2.

Freshman Samantha Klozik came up big against Cooper Union with 13 kills, 9 aces and 11 digs. Senior Isabelle Sandmeyer added 7 kills and 9 aces. Freshman Leah Thomas had 2 kills. Sophomore Hope Feller had a strong game with 3 kills and 18 assists. Freshman Ruby Anastacio contributed 5 kills and freshman Renae Maganza had 10 assists. Freshman Sasha Conner chipped in with 3 kills and 3 aces and freshman Kyra Kleinsmith rounded out the scoring with a kill, 2 aces and 11 digs.

The wins improved the Lady Lions' overall record to 9-9.

The team will play at Pratt Institute Wednesday night in Brooklyn at 7:30PM in a non-conference match.
