Volleyball Dumped in Doubleheader

The King's College Women's Volleyball Team had a tough day on Saturday as they fell to host Cooper Union and to the Culinary Institute of America in a tri-match.

TKC started off the day with a match against Cooper Union. Despite some solid individual efforts the Lady Lions lost 3-0 (14-25, 17-25, 16-25). Junior Dekka Hunley had 6 kills and 11 digs, freshman Taylor Wheeler had 11 assists, freshman Savannah White had 2 assists and 4 digs,  freshman Marina Barham had 2 kills and 5 digs, and freshman Annabelle Kopack had 4 kills and 7 digs.

In the second match of the day TKC took on the Steels of the Culinary Institute of America and again fell by the score of 3-0 (19-25, 15-25, 12-25). Junior Dekka Hunley led the way with 5 kills, 3 assists and 12 digs and freshman Annabelle Kopack had 5 kills, 1 assist and 3 assists. Freshman Savannah White had 3 kills and 6 digs, senior Grace Croley had 2 kills and 3 digs, freshman Marina Barham had 2 kills and 4 digs, freshman Taylor Wheeler had 3 kills, 9 assists and 8 assists.

The losses dropped the Lady Lions to 0-3 to start the season as the young team looks to gain some experience and chemistry.

NEXT UP:  On Wednesday the team will take on Davis College in a Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Conference contest.
