Volleyball Picks Up Win at Quad Match

Volleyball Picks Up Win at Quad Match

On Saturday October 15 the TKC Women's Volleyball Team took a trip out to Pennsylvania to take on Clarks Summit University. In addition to TKC and the host school, Cooper Union and the University of Valley Forge were also in attendance for the afternoon's quad match.

TKC led off the day with their match against the Valley Forge Patriots. This proved to be a competitive contest as has been the case over the last several years. However, the Patriots would prevail 3-2 this year.

Next the Lady Lions took on local rival Cooper Union. The hard work that TKC players and Coach Alexandra Rollis put in all year finally paid off as the team notched its first win of the season. TKC won a very close first set 25-22 before winning a more commanding second game 25-13. Cooper Union would try to get back in the match with a 25-16 win in the third set. Determined to close out this match and seal their first victory of the season TKC took the fourth set 25-15 and won the match 3-1.

Finally TKC squared off against the hosts from Clarks Summit University. Led by senior Grace Croley (9 kills and 10 digs), junior Dekka Hunley (5 digs and 5 kills), freshman Isabelle Minano (14 assists and 5 digs), and freshman Savannah White (6 digs), the Lady Lions did all they could to try to pick up a second win for the day. Unfortunately, it was not enough as Clarks Summit posted three straight wins (25-12, 25-13, 25-19)  for the 3-0 victory.
