Women's Soccer Downed by Vernon Nazarene

On Friday evening The King's College Women's Soccer Team took on the Vernon Nazarene Cougars of Ohio in a first ever meeting between the two schools.

The NAIA school jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first five minutes and never looked back as they took an 8-0 lead into the halftime break. The young TKC squad put up a valiant fight but the talented, experienced Cougars were too much to overcome. TKC senior goalkeeper Victoria McAlister faced 25 shots in the first half, while sophomore Ann Marie Carlson saw 13 shots in the second half as the Lady Lions were outshot 38-0 in the game. Vernon Nazarene also had a 10-0 advantage in corner kicks for the game. The Cougars added 5 more goals in the second half for the 13-0 final score.

TKC will look to put this game behind them as their record falls to 0-2 to start the season.

NEXT UP: The team will take on USCAA powerhouse Bryant and Stratton next Sunday September 11 on Randall's Island.
