Women's Soccer Falls to Falcons

Women's Soccer Falls to Falcons

The King's College Women's Soccer Team journeyed to Boston on Saturday to conclude their season with a match against the Fisher College Falcons.

Fisher jumped out in front 1-0 when Julia Schojan scored at 6:56. However, less than 10 minutes later TKC sophomore Madeline Tyler scored on an assist from fellow sophomore Kara Simmons to knot the score at 1-1. Fisher would add two more goals in the first half and took a 3-1 lead into halftime.

The Lady Lions came out strong to start the second half and attempted several shots and a corner kick in the first 10 minutes of the second frame. Sophomore Megan LeBlanc finished the game with 3 shots and fellow sophomores Ann Marie Carlson, Madeline Tyler and Joanna Overmeyer each had two shots, but none could find the back of the net to narrow the deficit.

Fisher scored again in the 82nd minute for a 4-1 lead and that score would be the final. TKC was outshot 21-12 in the game and Fisher had a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.

The Lady Lions finished their season with a 3-9 overall record, and they were 1-2 in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. TKC will lose only one senior, Victoria McAlister, to graduation and will look forward to a very bright future with a roster loaded with freshmen and sophomores.
