Tyler Hat Trick Beats Berkeley

Sophomore Madeline Tyler had 3 goals and 1 assist and powered the Lady Lions to a 6-0 victory over the Berkeley College Knights last night at Aviator Field in Brooklyn. Tyler's performance was part of a dominating game for TKC who outshot Berkeley 22-0. The Lady Lions also had a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks. The match represented each team's second game in Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference league play.

Tyler struck for the first goal ten minutes into the game on a pass from sophomore Joanna Overmeyer. Five minutes later sophomore Kara Simmons would add to the TKC lead with an unassisted tally. At the 26:00 Overmeyer would score an unassisted goal of her own for a 3-0 TKC lead. Tyler would pick up her second goal of the night unassisted at the 30:55 mark, and nine minutes later she returned a favor, passing a ball to Simmons who knocked in her second goal of the game. Tyler would close out the first half scoring with her third goal to complete the hat trick at 40:36.

The win was the second of the season for TKC which brought their overall record to 2-6 while it evened their record within the HVIAC to 1-1. Berkeley fell to 0-2 in the HVIAC and 0-2 overall.
