On February 16th the Lady Lions travelled up to the College of New Rochelle to play in the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) Playoffs. This is the first time the Women's Basketball team has advanced to playoffs, since The King's College moved to New York City.

The Lady Lions were ranked fourth in the HVIAC conference and would face the top ranked team, Davis College. This is the second time that the Lady Lions would play the Falcons, coming up short in their last matchup, 63-25. Missing senior Megan LeBlanc, the Lady Lions were down to six players. The Lady Lions would battle the Falcons, but were unable to secure the win and were defeated 68-30.

The Lady Lions struggled to get into an offensive rhythm early on, which allowed the Falcons to take an early lead. The Lady Lions had their best showing in the second-quarter, scoring in double-digits. The Lady Lions were able to keep the opponents' score relatively low with the defense they played and by minimizing ball control errors.

Sophomore Catie Shoemaker put up the most points for the Lady Lions, with a total of 10, snatched 6 rebounds, and made 5 assists. Sophomore Bailey Kaufman scored 9 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, made 6 steals, 3 blocks, and 1 assists.

Sophomore Donyanna Sanders put up 6 points, made 1 assists and 1 steal. Freshman Hannah Gillihan scored 5 points, took down 6 rebounds, and made 2 steals. Junior Christina Lewis chipped in with 2 rebounds.

The Lady Lions have had a tough season and had to overcome many challenges. Their hardwork and determination kept the team afloat and allowed them to make history with their playoffs appearance. Although they did not come out with the victory, their effort is commendable and we are proud of the season they have had.
