On December 1st, the Lady Lions took on the Vikings from Villa Maria College, dropping the game 87-39.

Unable to combat the Vikings offense, the Lady Lions would not be able to respond in time to secure the win. The Vikings jumped out to an early lead as the Lady Lions slowly fell behind. Sophomore Sha Sanders put up the only points for the Lady Lions in the first quarter making a three-point shot. Ending the first quarter, the Lady Lions were down 20-3.

The Lady Lions continued to struggle in the second quarter and were only able to add seven points for the team, ending this second quarter at a score of 43-10. The Lady Lions worked hard in the third and fourth quarter, putting up a total of 29  points, but it was not enough to take down the Vikings, who had a strong lead over the Lady Lions.

Although the Vikings were a challenging team to play in this game, freshman Sydni Brown came close to securing her first ever double-double, scoring over 50% of the shots for the Lady Lions, with a total of 22 points and taking down the second highest amount of rebounds for the team, with nine.

Senior Megan LeBlanc, sophomore Bailey Kaufman, and freshman Emmaline Waller were able to contribute four points each for the Lady Lions. Kaufman snatched 10 rebounds and had three assists. Sophomore Sha Sanders took down five rebounds and scored three points.

NEXT UP: The Lady Lions will return in the new year with their next game on January 21st against Five Towns College (6:00pm).
