Women's Basketball Drops Cooper Union

Sophomore Kara Simmons shot a scorching 69% from the floor as she hit 9 of 13 shots for 18 points, and everyone on the TKC roster made their way onto the scoresheet as the Lady Lions defeated Cooper Union 57-20. Led by Simmons, who also had 13 rebounds, the team improved to 2-0 for the season.

Junior point guard Kylie Locklar chipped in with 4 points and 8 assists, freshman Kelsey Thomason had 7 points and 4 steals, sophomore Ann Marie Carlson had 8 points to go along with 4 steals, and junior Megan Starnes was strong on the boards with 12 rebounds as well as 4 points.

The outcome was never in doubt as King's raced out to a 30-7 halftime lead and never looked back. The Lady Lions showed their depth on the bench as junior Anna Eaves had 8 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists, sophomore Megan LeBlanc added 7 rebounds, 2 points and 2 steals and freshman Marissa George had 6 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals.
