Women's Basketball Starts Season With Win

The King's College Women's Basketball Team wasted no time as they raced out to a 17-2 lead in the first quarter of their season opener against Five Towns College. Sophomore Kara Simmons led the way for the Lady Lions as she posted 14 points and added 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. TKC would go on to win the game 75-20.

TKC Head Coach William Mangarelli watched his team start their season with a very balanced attacked as every player on the roster found their way on to the scoresheet. Sophomore Ann Marie Carlson had 10 points and 4 steals, juniors Megan Starnes and Anna Eaves had 9 and 8 points, respectively. Junior point guard had 2 points to go along with 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. But the TKC bench went very deep as they posted 32 of the Lady Lions' 75 points. Freshman Kelsey Thomason had 11 points and fellow freshman Kelsey Roberts added 9 points. Sophomore Megan LeBlanc had 8 points. Freshman Marissa George and junior Audra Baumann each chipped in with 2 points.

TKC starts their season with a 1-0 record while Five Towns College falls to 0-2.
