The TKC Lady Lions basketball team relinquished a 28-24 halftime lead in their season opener last night, an HVIAC conference match-up against Vaughn. Despite a terrific effort by TKC sophomore Anna Eaves (10 points, 16 rebounds), Vaughn outlasted the Lion 51-46. Freshman Anne Marie Carlson added 11 points and 6 rebounds and Megan Starnes and Kara Simmons dominated the boards with 15 and 9 rebounds, respectively. Sophomore guard Kylie Locklar had 9 points and 4 rebounds. TKC will take on Cooper Union next Friday in a non-conference game.
