Men's Soccer Sees Two Streaks Stopped

On Saturday The King's College Men's Soccer Team went on the road to play SUNY-New Delhi. The TKC team had not been beaten in their three previous matches as they came away with two wins and a tie. The Lions also had not conceded a goal in those games and had given up only one goal in their first four games of the season, that goal came in a 1-0 loss to SUNY-Maritime in the season opener.

Joffre Portilla struck in the fifth minute to stake SUNY-Delhi to a quick 1-0 lead. The goal ended a scoreless streak of almost 373 minutes and would prove to be the game winner. SUNY-Delhi would strike again in the 19th and 40th minutes for a 3-0 halftime lead. Neither team would score in the second half and the 3-0 final would also halt the Lions' three game unbeaten streak.

TKC freshman goalkeeper Richard Christensen remained strong in the nets on his way to making 10 saves in the game, but the TKC offense was not able to muster many chances on the SUNY-Delhi goal.

TKC returns to action Saturday 9/24 with a home match against SUNY-ESF.
