FDU Devils Drop Lions on the Road

After a dominating win on Sunday at home against Vaughn The King's College men's basketball team traveled to New Jersey for a pre-Thanksgiving matchup with Farleigh Dickinson University-Florham.

The Devils of FDU jumped out to a quick lead and never relinquished it. FDU shot 39.7% from the floor which was 11% more than the Lions. The Devils shot 30% from three-point land while King's managed just 16.7% from beyond the three-point line. This helped FDU take a 40-24 lead into halftime.

The Lions did do a better job of protecting the ball in this game with only 14 turnovers, they had been averaging 18 coming into the game. But FDU kept the pressure on in the second half and shot 41% while King's field goal percentage dropped to 23%. The Devils were dominant on the glass as well with a 55-39 advantage in rebounding. King's battled well inside as both teams scored 24 points in the paint, but the Devils held a 19-2 advantage in second-chance points and knocked down 15 3-pointers to extend the final score to 83-43.

Junior Mali Binen led the way for King's in scoring again with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Senior Ben Oldham got into some early foul trouble and was only able to contribute 6 rebounds to the cause. Senior Jordan Bishop had 10 points and 6 rebounds before fouling out. Senior Tyler Bowens had 9 points and 6 rebounds. Junior Jimmy Nguyen had a 3 pointer and senior Trevor Holland had 2 points while freshman Morten Hansen hit a free throw.

The Lions are back in action on Saturday, December 4 when they travel to Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
