Lions Dominate Cooper Union in Overtime Win

Coming off two wins this season, the Lions were looking to improve their season record to 3-0 with a win over Cooper Union. The Lions battled it out and came out on top, with a 75-69 overtime win against Cooper Union. 

Cooper Union took control over the game early on with an eight point lead at halftime. The Lions came out strong in the second half and were able to make up the difference and tie the game, outscoring Cooper Union 40-32. Junior Jesse Filho hit a three-pointer as the clock ran out, to send the game into overtime. 

The Lions would then go on to outpace Cooper Union with 11 points scored in the overtime period, securing their third win of the season. Three players topped the charts with double-digit scoring, which made up more than half of the points for the Lions.

Sophomore Jordan Bishop had his best game of the season, earning his first double-double this year. Bishop scored the most points for the Lions with a total of 21 and also snatched the most rebounds with a total of 11. 

Following close behind was sophomore Tyler Bowens, who put up 20 points and took down 8 rebounds, all of which were defensive. This is Bowens' second game scoring 20 or more points this season. 

Junior Jesse Filho added 12 points and snatched 4 rebounds to go along with his three point, game tying shot. Sophomore Trevor Holland got up 7 points on the board for the Lions and took down 5 rebounds. 

Freshman David Smith and Andrew Pelaschier each put up 6 points for the Lions. While sophomore Ben Oldham continued to hold down defense with 8 rebounds, 6 defensive and 2 offensive.
