Lions Overtaken by Cannoneers

On January 31st the Lions took on the Cannoneers from Pratt Institute for the second time this season. The last matchup against the Cannoneers resulted in the Lions coming up five points short of beating the Cannoneers, 68-64. The Lions would struggle in the first half of this game, allowing the Cannoneers to pick up the win again, 63-48.

Although this game did not result in a win for the Lions, the team put forth a tremendous fight in the second half, scoring more than double the points they did in the first half. Senior Luke Borchelt and freshman Jordan Bishop, both had great nights and together put up 68% of the points for the Lions in this game.  

Senior Luke Borchelt is finishing his last season strong, scoring 16 points, snatching eight rebounds, making four steals and two assists. Borchelt made all six of the free throws he was given.

Freshman Jordan Bishop continues to be a strong player for the Lions, scoring 17 points, taking down six rebounds, and posting one assist. Bishop made all seven of the free throws he was given as well.

With these two athletes making all of their free throws, the Lions would end the night with a free throw percentage of 88.2%, making this the best night of free throws this season.

Senior Justin Cox scored eight points and took down four rebounds. While freshman Ben Oldham grabbed seven rebounds and had one steal to help the Lions.
