Lions Defeat Word of Life College in Season Opener

On Saturday, November 10th, the TKC Men's Basketball team played Word of Life College to open up their 2018-2019 season.

The Lions showed up and showed out in their season debut, winning their game 69-57. At the end of the first half, the Lions were 10 points ahead of Word of Life College and would continue to prevail in the second half.

Freshman Tyler Bowens led the team scoring 21 points and taking down 12 defensive rebounds, earning him his first ever double-double in his college career. Senior Justin Cox scored 13 points this game, making all four two-point shots he took. While Junior Drew Knudsen scored a total of 9 points and had the best percentage for free throws, making three out of four free throw attempts.

Senior Onassis Puente and Freshman Zachary Moeller were great defensive players taking down six rebounds each. Puente also had three steals and gained seven points for the Lions, while Moeller followed close behind putting up six points.

NEXT UP: The Lions will be facing Cooper Union, on Saturday, November 17, at Simon Baruch Junior High School (2pm).
